Are you Distracting Yourself so you do not have to deal with life?

The addiction to keeping busy is a real thing. It is easy to allow the distractions of life to take over to avoid our thoughts and feelings. We live in a world where we are constantly busy and stimulated. From social media to the internet to mindless TV watching, to kids, to bills and work, we are busier than ever!

Since we live in the age of constantly keeping our schedules full, we must learn the art of being still. More importantly, this skill of controlling our minds. As we fill our days with work, kids, and responsibilities, it is easy for us to avoid the never-ending chatter that is going on in the background of our minds.

At times we can experience a slowing down of life when we end a relationship. When work is not as busy, and we do not have much to do. When we are quarantined and cannot live our normal busy on the go-lives, when these changes in life happen, we are forced to sit still. We are forced to deal with our thoughts. Here is where our fears, worries, insecurities, and anxieties come up.

The real challenge comes in the beginning to practice self-awareness and the discipline of controlling our thoughts. Without this skill, you will continue to live the same life and get the same results. You will still have your fears, worries, insecurities, and anxieties. You will…
